Happy Hump Day!! I hope you all are doing well. ❤️Today I’ll be reviewing a Christian romance novelette called May We Make Them Proud, written by the one and only Issabelle Perry! I’ve been SO excited to review this 😂 I stayed up until 11:30 PM and read this in one sitting because I was am so in love with it! So here we go!

The Blurb

The only way to fly is to first fall…

Wren is sure that all she needs in life are books, music, and her husky. Forget all her old plans to be a travel vlogger and see the world, now Wren’s only concern is to make sure the bookshop she owns—her late father’s greatest life work—doesn’t fall under. But when her childhood friend suddenly arrives back in town two years after a disastrous fight that Wren prefers to leave forgotten, his presence resurfaces emotions she had thought were buried too deep to remember. Yet with the bookshop’s many needs, she doesn’t have time to dwell on childhood crushes and memories of life before her father’s passing—when she knew what it was like to live.

May We Make Them Proud is a moving, inspiring novelette about love, healing, and learning to dream again.

My Review

The Things I Didn’t Like/Content Advisories

  • A kiss at the end of the book. That’s it, unless you count crying your eyeballs out as a content advisory LOL 😂 I didn’t dislike a single thing in this book!

The Things I Liked LOved

I seriously don’t even know where to begin…there just aren’t words to describe this! Even though this book is only around seventy pages long, every single paragraph was jam-packed with meaning and hope, not to mention the cozy bookstore vibes. (And you know it’s going to be good when a cute guy shows up on page two 😂) Seriously though, the feel of this book is just amazing. This book is a vibe! I fall in love with it all over again every time I think about it!

But vibes and cute guys aside, I also adore the theme of hope and healing in this novelette; Wren is not only dealing with her life as a young adult and running a bookstore, but also trying to cope with the loss of her dad. Losing someone you love is no small thing, as we know, and this book acknowledges that. It acknowledges how hard it is to keep going, to even attempt to be happy, to believe that you’ll be able to dream and laugh and truly be able to live again. May We Make Them Proud is a powerful and faith-filled book that addresses all of this and more, all in a story that’s not even a hundred pages long. That’s talent, guys! 🥹 I will definitely be re-reading this!!

So all of that being said, I highly recommend May We Make Them Proud for ages 13-14+ with a rating of 5 stars! And please make sure to check out Issabelle Perry and her books on Amazon and GoodReads. I promise you won’t regret it! 😉

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Until next time, adieu!!
